HEATHER DORAK

In 2006, Heather Dorak was introduced to Pilates while rehabbing a dance injury. Blown away by the results—and by how strong and good her body felt—she wanted to find a way to continue Pilates long after her recovery. At the time, Pilates was largely an expensive, one-on-one experience, and boutique fitness was still in its infancy. Determined to make the workout and its benefits accessible to more people, Heather left UCLA and opened the first Pilates Platinum studio in Hollywood.

Pilates Platinum was one of the first studios to bring Pilates into a group fitness setting, introducing 45-minute, full-body workouts on custom-designed Pilates reformers. The concept was simple but revolutionary: combine modern Pilates with elements of classical Pilates, create a workout that is challenging, efficient, and accessible, and make every minute count. The results spoke for themselves. Deep foundational strength, improved posture, a stronger core, and long, lean, toned muscles quickly made Pilates Platinum a phenomenon. As word spread, Heather expanded throughout Los Angeles, opening studios in Brentwood, Santa Monica, and Venice.

Nearly two decades later, Pilates Platinum has grown far beyond its original Hollywood studio, with locations across California, Texas, Connecticut, and New York—including Alamo Heights, Stone Oak, Dominion, Alamo Ranch, New Braunfels, Fairfield, Shelton, and Roslyn.
